Privacy Policy

This policy explains what happens to your information when you use Bite Me Seriously and the Eve companion at bitemeseriously.co.uk. We've tried to write it plainly rather than in dense legal language.

No accounts, no sign-up

There is no account creation, login, or password to use Eve. We don't collect your name, email address, or any identifying information just to let you use the chat.

Where your conversation is stored

Your chat history is stored locally in your own browser (using browser local storage), on your own device. It is not stored on a central database tied to your identity. If you clear your browser's site data, or use a different device or browser, Eve will not remember previous conversations.

What is sent to make Eve reply

To generate a reply, your message (along with recent conversation history from that session, to keep replies coherent) is sent to Anthropic, the company that provides the AI model behind Eve, for processing. Anthropic processes this data to generate a response; please see Anthropic's own privacy policy for how they handle it on their end. We do not sell this data or share it with advertisers.

Voice features

If you use voice mode, speech-to-text and text-to-speech are handled by your own browser's built-in capabilities (the Web Speech API), not by us. How your browser or device handles that audio is governed by your browser/device maker's own privacy policy, not this one.

Country detection for helpline suggestions

If a conversation suggests you might benefit from local support, Eve makes a best-effort guess at your country using your browser's language/locale setting — not GPS or precise location — to show a relevant local helpline. This detection happens in your browser and is not logged or stored by us.

Cookies and analytics

We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking/analytics scripts on this site. Local storage is used only to remember your conversation with Eve and your daily message count, both on your own device.

Contact form

If you use the contact form, the name, email address, and message you submit are sent to our inbox via a third-party form-processing service (FormSubmit) so we can reply to you. We use this information only to respond to your message.

Other services linked from this site

Links to our Facebook page and Buy Me a Coffee page take you to third-party platforms with their own separate privacy policies. We don't control how those platforms handle your data once you're on their site.

Children

This service is not directed at children, and is not intended for use by anyone under 16. If you believe a child has used the service inappropriately, please contact us.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
